This catalog was published on the occasion of the Reed College Centennial and in conjunction with the exhibition David Reed, Lives of Paintings on view at the Douglas F. Cooley Memorial Art Gallery, Reed College from October 28 to December 9, 2008. The exhibition was curated by Stephanie Snyder, the director, and curator of the Douglas F. Cooley Memorial Art Gallery at Reed College.

This publication includes a preface by Michael Knutson, Professor Art, Reed College and several essays including Living with #29: On a Painting by David Reed by Charles Rhyne, Professor Emeritus of Art, Reed College, Words for #320-2 by Lisa Ann Favero and David Reed's #482 by Jeffrey Kipnis. Also included is Paintings,  Films, Dreams: a conversation between David Reed and Stephanie Snyder.

David Reed is a painter living and working in New York City who graduated from Reed College in 1968.
