David Weiss was a Swiss artist most notably known as half of the artist duo Fischli/Weiss.
During a 1975 trip from Zurich and Carona, Switzerland, via Yorkshire, England, to Morocco, Weiss produced his first series of Wandlungen. The following year, Edition Stähl published an edition of 200 book titled Wandlungen. Weiss continued producing more series of drawings first using blue ballpoint pen, later using India ink on white and variously colored paper. By 1978, he had produced 83 series, varying from 1 to 37 pages each, on over 400 looseleaf sheets.
This large almost 600 page volume is the first publication to include all of the Wandlungen series. All of the drawings are printed on a neutral white background as they are in the first publication from 1976. As far as possible, the series, most of them undated, are arranged in chronological order.
A two page supplement with text by Stephan Kunz printed in both German and English is included.
