Animal Shelter is an occasional intellectual journal on Art, Sex, Literature published by Semiotext(e) and edited by Hedi El Kholti.
The newest issue will be the journal's final issue. Animal Shelter 5 closes a decade of publication and hovers, fittingly, around issues of mortality, loss, and trauma—charting existential drift, but also finding new eddies of belonging, homecoming, and hospitality. As Chris Kraus reflects, “Things have to move elsewhere. So I think this issue is like smoke, or signal blocking.”
