Issue 5 of Dirty Furniture magazine focuses on the phone.
Continuing its focus on uncovering the relationship between people and the things around us, the independent design magazine’s fifth issue investigates the phone. Dive headlong into the world of 5G, dominatrices reclaiming the internet, scams and phreaking, the undersea cable network, inventor Antonio Meucci, the GPS of monarch butterflies, calling the dead, and perhaps even a phone shaped like a strawberry.
Dirty Furniture is a new independent biannual design magazine that uncovers the relationship between people and the things they live with. Conceived as a finite printed series of six and showcasing design's best writers and emerging talents, each issue takes a piece of furniture as its theme and uses it as a springboard to explore topics spanning politics, design, history, technology, psychology, manufacturing, art - and the plain weird.
