A simple beautiful blue and white print by Melissa 'Misa' Chhan!
"A silkscreen print of a photograph I took of an iconic blue lotus melamine plate that I grew up with. I also saw this plate at my friends’ houses, and many Asian restaurants used these too, it was a nice feeling of familiarity. What spoke to me first was the blue color of the plate, it feels like a very spiritual indigo. And then the lotus made me think about community and Garden as a metaphor for life. Maybe one of the most profound ways we engage with the natural world happens on our plates. What’s more spiritual than the process of eating or cooking? When we eat we take in the outside world into our bodies."
